Drama Update

I was planning on doing Meitantei Conan tomorrow, but I'm not sure since I have an exam to study for on Monday.  I'll probably have time to watch it tomorrow afternoon, but wont be able to comment about it until later on Monday afternoon.  I skimmed through the first episode and it seemed kind of boring, but we'll see if it'll be interesting enough to keep.

I also have Don Quixote waiting to be watched as well, but I'm going to have to wait on that since I wasn't planning on watching it, but skimming through it, it seemed interesting enough.  Piece Vote is also on queue but even though it's only a 22min drama (30min including cms), Im most likely going to drop it, unless it wows me within the first 2 episodes.

Since Hana Kimi 2011 is out, I've only heard negative comments about it and it's basically the same complaints that everyone's had since even before the drama came out.  No one's actually mentioned anything else, so I might take that into consideration when I get a chance to watch it, meaning that, I'll criticize things that people haven't mentioned yet that doesn't have anything to do with Hana Kimi 2007 or at least attempt to.  The only positive thing I've heard so far is people picking their favorite ACTORS, not characters.  Also need to mention that after the first episode people were trending "Futsumen Paradise" meaning "Average guys paradise" haha. I honestly have to agree with that, not being biased, but it's most likely because of how old I am and how old the guys are.
Ok so, I WILL be doing a different kind of review/summary for Hana Kimi which is a comparison to the original.  And I KNOW I shouldn't be doing that despite what I've just said, or what I've said previously, but I threw that all out after more info came out about the drama.

Pre-Ikemen Desu ne Thoughts #01 (and HanaKimi #04)

I'm about to go crazy fangirl (which I know I shouldnt) by the end of this post and you'll see why when you get to it.

I realized I haven't really said much about Ikemen Desu Ne, but that's primarily because I haven't seen any other promo pictures or CM's besides the ones that first aired what the actors look like for their roles.  I usually check tumblr twice a day for ouran and hanakimi picture updates, but havent for Ikemen since it's not really a drama I'm exactly waiting for, but after seeing the latest Hanakimi CM, I think Ikemen just ranked above it for drama priority, which I'll explain at the end (can you sense the crazy fangirl moment yet).

So, like I've mentioned, I know nothing about this drama other than the fact that Takimoto Miori is playing a girl, playing a boy (twin brother) as his replacement in his idol band...? is that right? Anyways, the story is based off of Korea's "You're Beautiful" which a lot of people are not very happy about, because, let's face it, fangirl's not only have high expectations, but they also hate remakes.  At least fangirls have something to be happy about, that the lead actors are all Johnny's (as if that would satisfy them, they'd want the older ones yeah?).  I sound as if I'm bashing fangirls, but I'm not.. really, I'm not.  Even that last line sounded like I'm being sarcastic, no but really, I'm not bashing, I'm just stating facts although you cant generalize.

I'm getting really off topic here. So, I've never seen Takimoto act before, but it also seems that she hasn't done much acting as is.  I think this will be a big break for her and she'll start to get more roles, so we'll see what happens after the series airs.
I'm mainly just watching this drama for Taisuke, I don't really care much for the other two.  I need to also mention how much younger Taisuke looks with his current hairstyle and now he looks very cookie-cutter and younger than his actual age, but I really like the way he looks right now.

As for my FINAL thoughts on Hanakimi and yes it will be my final pre-thought about this drama.  I've sort of lost interest after seeing the latest promo vid.  I'm not impressed.  And of course you're all thinking "you haven't seen it yet" and that's what I've been trying to convey in earlier posts that i'm sounding like a hypocrite right now, but that 1min promo kind of left me feeling that this drama is gonna be aalllllll bad.  I don't want to say that they're copying the first one, but there were some parts that really did look like they were copying the first.  Maeda's voice is super annoying! not to mention really girly.  Putting on guy's clothes and changing up the speech to mimic a guy is not gonna make you a guy, lower the frequency of your voice please.  The guy playing Oscar doing the voice scales... sounded so fake.  I can go on and on about this, but I feel like I should wait until the actual series airs and put my 2cents in to see if it confirms my thoughts.
And because of my new thoughts, this drama is definitely going to get pushed back as a side drama (not my usual MUST WATCH).  Shohei... why must you be part of this drama?! Making it so hard for me to choose. If he weren't in it, I probably wouldn't even bother watching it at all.

Pre-HanaKimi Thoughts #03

I feel like this drama is becoming a joke.  They're bringing in 5 members (including maeda) of AKB48 to play in the drama.  I was fine with Maeda only, even though I'm not a fan of hers, but to bring in more members of AKB48 is just ridiculous.  I'm not trying to be a hater here, but I can't stand AKB48, they annoy the hell out of me.  Yes, I understand that bringing in more members of such a popular group will bring in more viewers, especially male viewers considering this drama is more female-targeted, but really though.. you couldn't even consider other people to play their parts?  Honestly, it's actually making me not wanting to watch this drama.  I'm probably going to end up making this a side drama to watch instead.

That's the end of my rant.  And I'm not even going to make a tag for AKB48, cuz hopefully this'll be the last time i'll talk about them.

Pre-HanaKimi Thoughts #02

I can see myself posting a lot of thoughts about this drama before it starts, especially since the cast is revealed and actors are blog posting info about themselves and fan comments are getting even more outrageous now than when the news broke out.  WHICH i'm finding hilarity out of (not laughing at them, just laughing at the situation).

I'm going to say this for the last time (im pretty sure this is the last time I'm going to say this), the primary reason why I'm excited about this drama is really only to see Miura Shohei (seeing a trend?).  From the orignal, Toma was the reason why I decided to watch HanaKimi in the first place, and hearing he was acting with Oguri shun and Ishigaki Yuma just made it a big plus. Anyways, i'm getting off topic.  I love the fact that Shohei is playing Toma's character.  I can only hope that Shohei will be just as funny as Toma without mimicking his rendition of the character.

I don't see myself dropping this drama, especially if they are building new stories instead of recreating the original.  I'm going to go into watching this blindly, trying not to compare the two, on the blog I know i'll be doing some comparisons, but as I'm watching it for my own sake, it'll be blind.  I can see some good things coming from this drama, but I know a lot of people are seeing this in bad light.  If you think about it, we may not know much about all the new cast members, but can you say the same thing about the first cast?  The first cast had a mix of older and newer generation actors.  Aside from Shun, Ishigaki and Kyo Nobuo, the other actors may have had a few roles before hanakimi, but none of them were as big as they are now.  I mean, Hiro had acted in plenty of things before hanakimi, he was well known, especially after Kamen Rider, but it wasn't until after hanakimi where he is right now. At least that's how I see it.  I may or may not know what I'm talking about, but that's what I see.

TWO MORE THOUGHTS that I haven't brought up yet. And these are my personal opinions.  Agree or Disagree, this is what I think.
- Kiriyama Renn playing Nanba Minami: Yeah, I don't watch Kamen Rider, so I had no idea who this kid is (and excuse me for saying kid, it's just a word, despite him being older than me haha), but after seeing his blog update about him playing Nanba, I don't know what it is, but he kinda does look like Mizushima Hiro in his blog pic or should I say Hiro while playing Nanba.  I think it was a good pick, but my only problem with him playing Nanba is, will he be able to offer that comedic sex appeal that Hiro had?

- Sato Tomohito/Yuki as Kagurasaka Makoto:  I saw his blog post on tumblr and wondered why this guy looked so familiar to me.  I didn't recognize him since he cut his hair short and he shaved off all his facial hair (what's with the Kamen Rider actors?).  But I'm really excited to see him play in the drama.  Another person to keep me sane while watching this.  If you hadn't noticed a lot of the actors were born in the 90's or late 80's.  Hitting the new generation of Ikemen of course.  To see Sato in here kinda makes me feel relieved and I like how he even mentions "how can a 27yo play a high schooler" and he's proud of it, shoot i'd be proud too to be able to pull off being a high school student at this age haha.
So, he's going to be playing Shirota Yu's character.  Not really part of the main-main cast, but still happy to see him be there.  Hopefully he has a bigger part than what Shirota had.

[[ I realize that when I start typing out my thoughts, they come out differently than I intended HAHA, so what i've been writing in the last couple posts, my thoughts in writing look cloudy. ]]

Pre-HanaKimi Thoughts #01

So, just as I mentioned yesterday that I'd give HanaKimi a chance despite me liking the first one and feel that it's too soon for a remake.  Pictures have been released for the remake of the 3 leads and the group photo.

Of course, NO ONE will resemble anyone from the original season so trying to figure out who these new guys are playing will be pretty difficult.  I assume that the placement of the group shot is the same as the original, but who knows, especially since Miura is a bit hard to distinguish with all that photoshop.  If it wasn't for the hair color, I wouldn't have guessed it was him.

I'm a little drawn to Miura Shohei, not because I'm already a fan, but i don't know what it is.  It's probably his smile in the picture of him with Nakamura Aoi and Maeda Atsuko.  I know he wants to live up to the Toma/Nakatsu that we all know and love, but it's going to be a challenge for people to let it go.

edit//
they named the actors (or who they can see) who are in the drama.  Soooo as I can see, they're a bunch of ROOKIE actors.  I'm looking up all of their names and only a handful of them have known roles in other dramas/movies.  That or people who have had small roles in dramas, dont have a dramawiki page yet, so.. well, I think this drama will be good to jump start these youngin's acting careers, as long as they get screen time.
